The drive to Omaha with Jackson went great. It was good we left Dillon behind. We had absolutely no room left after baby, toys, and suitcases were all crammed inside the car. The thing about driving is that I felt the need to bring everything that we had room for....yup, each and every favorite toy. The biggest differences we noticed in traveling with a baby as opposed to just Joel and I were: the constant rattle of toys that sang to us the whole 500 miles, the fact that I now sit in the back seat next to Jackson to entertain (as opposed to holding hands up front with Joel and sleeping), and no matter how bad each of us had to go to the bathroom we kept driving if Jackson was sleeping. Oh and also-Joel drove the whole way, both ways :)
Taylor's wedding was everything....beautiful, emotional, and very happy. It is so obvious her and Roy are meant for each other. Kind of nostalgic for me considering we have been friends since before our first birthdays. I just wish I could see them more often...
We are home now from a great time away. Ahhh.... a quiet house with a not so quiet baby :) Dillon is picked up from the dog sitter, messy paws and all, the sod was laid today, and it's pasta for dinner. Life is good.
Emily, you're such a good writer! I laughed when I read about you guys not stopping to use the restroom if Jackson was sleeping. So true! Glad you got your sod.
