O town baby

Last weekend I got to do something I have looked forward to doing for a long time. I brought Jackson to Omaha! After hours of juggling a baby in one hand and my boarding pass in the other we finally made it on the plane and out of snowy Denver. We arrived in Omaha with sunny skies and an exciting weekend ahead. First on the agenda was Taylor's bridal shower. It was great to see her happy and sooo giddy in love. Jackson got to experience his first and probably last bridal shower--I hope. We also got to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Bishop for the first time since Jackson has been born. He's slightly better about letting other people hold him. Still working on it though.

I was pretty nervous to fly with Jackson alone, like without the help of Joel. Fortunately, once I got past the security lines, everything was smooth sailing. For some reason it took an extra long time for the gross security man with rubber gloves to determine whether or not my pumped bags of milk for Jackson contain hazardous material. It seemed like it took 5 minutes of embarrassment while some ignorant man waved the bag up in the air toward the light trying to make out its contents. The best part though is when he finally read the label and realized what he was holding. He practically dropped it. Oh well. I bet next time that security man will be able to identify a medela nursing container a little quicker. :)
