Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely-in a pretty and well-preserved body-but rather a skid in a broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!"-anonymous

Christmas Tree
Christmas Day. We stayed at home, made lots of food, opened presents, and had some good friends from college stay with us. It was a great day celebrating Christ and His birth. I even let Jackson play with the Christmas tree. Finally.
Thanks GiGi for the cool hard page Bible. Now he cant tear out the pages!
Love the pics and the sentiments. Thought, "Boy! those kids looks familiar!" Duh! We got to see the K's in Omaha the 20th and got to give lots of smooches to their darling little boy with the chubby cheeks! Love to kiss those chubby cheeks! Are your cinnamon rolls from the Pioneer Woman? Merry Christmas from the Krecklows.
Yes, I've made the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls many times .....but my family calls them the "fake" cinnamon rolls because they like my original rolls better (the ones I've made since 4-ever). I like PW's because they are easier and quicker to make. I also made vanilla instead of her maple frosting. :) I gave the PW's cookbook to Amanda for Christmas because we both love to read her blog. Wish I could give Jackson some smooches on HIS chubby cheeks! Did you get to visit either of your families for Christmas? Wish I had some grandkids to smooch and love on! Chris
My husband and I. We enjoy being outdoors- since having Jackson, life has changed for the better. Instead of sleeping under the stars next to the bonfire, we enjoy cuddling with our 1 year old son next to the fireplace. Instead of climbing fourteener mountains, we enjoy walking around the lake with the stroller. And instead of playing fetch with the dog everyday after 12 hours of work, I enjoy staying home with my son and watching him learn new things. We are happy and content with our new normal because life with a child is more than we could have imagined.... We have our ups and downs, but In Christ Alone Our Hope Is Found.
Jackson. 1 year. Loves reading books, climbing on things he's not supposed to, and playing with mom's kitchen gadgets. A perfect day for him is when the neighbor kids are outside and he can watch them play their big kid games. Oh and a 30 minute nap might be included in that perfect day, but not a second longer!
You are getting SOOO good at taking pics! Did you get a new camera! Merry Christmas - hope to see you soon!

Kris,
ReplyDeleteThe K's kids are very cute and I also love his cheeks!
The cinnamon rolls are from the Pioneer Woman. Although I switched up the frosting to Vanilla instead of Maple. Have you made them?
