blah.

sick baby.

fever, chills, rapid breathing. no fun.

sick mommy? well technically no, but when my baby is sick, nothing feels right. So yes, In a way I feel sort of sick too.

doctor's office, baby tylenol, and bottles full of milk left untouched. lots of food wasted, diapers not wet enough, bags under our eyes, extended rocking chair time, and a beautiful sunrise.

i hope he feels better tomorrow.

h1n1 shot. check. flu shot. check. got the flu anyway. check.

my husband

I love this man.

He gives into all my crazy pleadings and does whatever he can to make us happy and provide for us.

Even if that means getting out in the cold, pre-snowstorm weather to put up Christmas lights. "cuz if we dont get them up this weekend we will probably never do it..right?!"

He does what he can. Even if that means getting on the wet, slippery roof to finish the project I really wanted complete.... cuz even if we dont turn the lights on for another week, it will be done....

I love this man. Cuz he does what he can.

Still Learning.

All of a sudden Ive got my work cut out for me. Jackson's new trick: emptying out the cupboards and watching me fill them back up. It started out cute. Now Im just tired and I realize what a mistake I made :) Had I said "no" from the beginning it might have made things easier. Ill keep that in mind for next time. But for now, Ive got my work cut out for me. There are a lot of tears shed and tantrums tempered. I guess I dont blame him for getting angry with me for changing the rules this late in the game. Maybe cupboard locks will solve this little problem? I told myself I wouldnt be that kind of mom...the kind that child proofs her home instead of teaching the child good habits and the difference between good and bad behavior. I guess Im a bit new at all this.

trailing through the kitchen...

who cares about toys when you've got place mats to play with...

This is where it all started. The tuperware cupboard. I thought it would be innocent fun for him(and a chance for me to eat my breakfast in peace!). Little did I know a 10 month old cannot differentiate the good cupboards from the bad.

A fireplace guard is on my TO DO list :)

This new trick really scared me. He figured out how to open the oven door!

***I have no idea why im taking pictures of all these horrible behaviors. Just thought you might take interest in what I should have said "no" to a long time ago.

bedtime baby

Yes, Jackson is resting his head on daddy. And No, we haven't confiscated his pacifier yet. And that's fine for us. for now. :)

Unassisted

I used to wonder how much a nine month old could really comprehend. One thing is for sure though.... Jackson for sure knows how cool it is that he can now stand on his own. Even if it only lasts a few seconds.

2 Halloweens.

Last year Joel and I went to a Halloween party. We arent too fond of dressing up, and being that I was pregnant it made matters even more confusing. So...about an hour before the party we figured out a quick costume. I went as a bun in the oven and Joel was the chef who put it there. Soooo cheesy. But it was fun! And now this year I got to dress up my little bun as a teenage mutant ninja turtle. Even more fun!

Ive always loved Donatello.

Since he's crawling everywhere it seemed like the perfect costume.

So joel thought my last post was a bit much :) I didnt mean to sound like I have a "chip on my shoulder". A majority of the people that I meet fully respect and appreciate stay at home moms. Just thought it was a funny article. Thats all.
