Humidity!

We love everything that summer brings (vacation time for Joel!). Today we are excited and getting ready for our trip to Minnesota. A few days in the city and a few days on the lake. Looking forward to every second...

So I thought I should clarify. My brother brought it to my attention that anyone reading this might think our kitchen sink is infested. It is not. In fact the only bath time accidents we've had consist of only pee in the bathroom bathtub. :)

learned my lesson.

Always leave the diaper on until the very end of the bath.

Should have known...

Im very into the cuteness of cupcakes right now. So..... in my quest to be more like martha, I ended up with very flat cupcakes that look like they have wood chips sprinkled on top instead of chocolate shavings. I will probably never quit blaming my baking blunders on the altitude. I will also never be Martha Stewart.

To The Rockies.

Joel's parents came to visit last weekend. We stayed in the mountains and got to breath in the fresh mountain air all weekend long....so nice. We spent time relaxing, catching up, and eating good food. Such a nice getaway.

Summer

a full rainbow!

Thanks to our wonderful friends, we now can enjoy our patio and the warm summer evenings. Baca's gave us their old table and chairs and Jesse gave us his chiminea (fire pit thing)...THANKS!!! The marshmallows and graham crackers catch my eye every time I open the cupboard....just waiting to be s'mored.

After 2 very long weeks of not being able to touch our freshly laid sod, we can now walk on it! Dillon is a very happy dog. Joel found a lawn mower off craigslist that we hope will last longer than a few months :) There are a lot of "firsts" for us this summer and it is fun to go through it all as a family. Something so simple as seeing Joel mow his own lawn for the first time makes me smile. (secretly I think he was looking forward to it for like a month!) Im glad the mud pit backyard is gone and replaced with grass, a patio, and tomato plants. Now we just need a couple trees....the good old suburbs arent really handing those out for free.

tummy time

We are trying to get Jackson motivated to start rolling over. It happened once, but that was 2 weeks ago.
